Little Alexandra

Oh my goodness! It's been a week since I've posted anything. I've been a blog slacker because I've been busy shooting away! I had a super busy weekend ... and it all started on Friday with a newborn session that featured one really, really, really beautiful little one. She was a little late coming into the world, and maybe that extra time in the oven was like an extra dose of beauty sleep because as you'll see in the preview below, little Alexandra is absolutely lovely. Her Aunt even made her a sweet little tutu just for her session. So precious! I know her Mom is anxiously awaiting her gallery, but for now I hope she'll enjoy the preview:)  - Kate

Erika and Charles

Don't forget to nominate your friend for a free portrait session and prints!

Erika and Charles had such a beautiful wedding this past Sunday! Both the ceremony and the reception took place at Harry's Savoy Grill in Wilmington, DE ... and everything went off just as planned (at least as far as I could tell:)) The bride's dress was absolutely AMAZING, not to mention extremely heavy! I got winded just trying to hang it on the door to take pictures! But, she wore it with a giant smile. The happy couple are currently off on on their honeymoon recovering from all the fun. But I know it's tough to wait for wedding pictures, so here's a big old preview to (hopefully) hold them over until the rest are ready. - Kate

Super Cute Baby Alert!

Don't forget to nominate a friend for a free session and prints!

One of the things I love -- LOVE -- about my job is getting to watch families grow. I first met Christina and Tim while they were still waiting for their little one (back when they used to get lots of sleep:)). We did some beautiful maternity pictures ... and just in time, too ... Taryn made her big debut much earlier than expected. When I went back to take her newborn pictures, she was just a tiny, tiny little cutie pie with one heck of a kick! This past Saturday we got together again at Bellevue Park in Wilmington, DE for her six month pictures. Christina had the fabulous idea of taking pictures around the mansion, since that's where the two were married. We had great weather and both the mansion and the park are gorgeous. Taryn happens to be a power napper, so we even got to take some pictures of her sleeping ... followed by super cute pictures when she woke up. And we even squeezed in a few shots of her wearing her adorable lady bug costume. So, get ready for a really, really cute preview below ...

Family Portrait Session

Don't forget to nominate a friend for a free session and free prints!

We are having the most gorgeous weekend! I hope everyone is out enjoying it. I know I've been loving it:) Yesterday I met up with the Stillmock clan at Gibraltar Gardens in Wilmington, DE for a family portrait session. Family sessions are always fun and inevitably end with someone pulling me aside and saying, "I'm so sorry you have to listen to all of this!" And by "this," he or she is referring to the bickering, fussing, whining, and "If you don't stand still and smile, you're going to get 'it'!" moments that frequently occur during a family session. But, that's what makes it a "family" session:) And I always love to see families come together for pictures.

We got some great shots during our session. A few of my favorites so far are below, starting with our little Casanova. This was our last shot of the day and the little guy was half wound-up and half exhausted from a few rounds of chase and an hour of smiling. When I asked him to peek through the fence and give me a smile, he wasn't too cooperative. Mom came to my rescue and threatened to take away his play date for the night. That worked instantly. But instead of a smile, he pulled out a flirty little wink, turned on his heel and trotted off to the van. I never saw it coming:) Thank goodness for a fast shutter speed! The fully gallery will be ready soon. - Kate

P.S. Hey, Sonya ... how did you get the wind to blow your hair perfectly right as I took the group picture?!
