Casting Call 3T -- Delaware Child Photographer

It's that time again! I need some fresh faces. Although the "old" faces are as cute as can be, the designer wants to keep it fresh. So, I'm looking for boys and girls that currently wear size 3T and haven't worked with me on a recent casting call. The clothes are super, super fun and funky and we'll be having a blast with these shoots. The shoots will be held on the following dates:

Wednesday July 15th 6:00 p.m.
Thursday July 16th 10:00 a.m.

Locations: to be disclosed ... but in the local (DE) area

Payment: $50/hr in Model Money (which can be used to purchase prints from the modeling session or prints from a past or future portrait session.)

How to be considered: please e-mail me a recent picture of your child. If I've recently worked with your child at a picture party or regular session, then there is no need to send a picture. Please contact me asap for this fun, fun, fun assignment!!!

And this might sound crazy ... but I would really LOVE to find a little girl who wears 3T and knows how to roller skate (or can at least stand in them on the grass without killing herself). I know. Crazy. But, if by any chance you know such a girl, please. Oh, please. Please contact me!
Update: Found her! I've got a roller-skating three-year-old!!! Two roller-skating three-year-olds would be amazing. Anyone else????!

Happy Wednesday!!
Kate

Floating -- Delaware Senior Photographer

Approximately forever and a day ago, I was watching an episode of America's Next Top Model and I absolutely fell in love. First with Nigel. And then with the shoot the girls were doing. If you're a fan of the show, then you'll know exactly which shoot I'm talking about when you see the pictures below. I knew that I HAD to try it out myself. Rachel very kindly obliged me. And I have to say, she did a fabulous job. If you think it's easy to look all floaty and gorgeous in the water while wearing a heavy formal gown ... you've got another think coming! In fact, the girls on the show totally whined and complained the whole time. Rachel, on the other hand, didn't. All it takes is one little word: Orlando. Sigh.

And for those of you who are like, um, Kate, aren't you supposed to be in Maine? The answer is yes. But, I'm not. Do you know that it's rained like everyday up there for the last two months? Not the best for outdoor portrait work. So, I'm here and taking this time that was originally allotted for Maine to catch up on everything, try out some creative ideas, and do some fun, fun, fun commercial work. I'll be heading up North a little later on in the summer when, hopefully, everything finally dries out.

Also, please note: my fall schedule is filling up super, super fast this year. So, if you have your heart set on a fall session or picture party, please contact me as soon as possible. Thanks : )

Happy Wednesday!

Everyone Should Have a Lindsay

If you've read my bio on my Beautiful You site, then you already know about my best friend. Lindsay. She's been my best friend since we were about 14. And we have her mother ... and our love of food ... to thank for it. Her Mom approached me one day and said, "Hey, Kate. Would you like to go to Weight Watchers with Lindsay?" Now, you'd think I would have been hurt. But I wasn't. I just agreed to go. And we've been best friends ever since. No lie. Now, she may kill me for posting these pictures. But I just couldn't help myself. We have such a history together. And look at what Weight Watchers did for us! We went from frumpy (on the left) ... to fabulous! (well, 90's fabulous, anyway.) Hard to believe we were only 14!! I think we look way older.

We never talked on the phone much since we were pretty much always together. Either in my Mom's mini van or her Mom's station wagon.

We went to our first formal together when we were 16

We (along with Heather and Tina) were dorks in the honor society.

We graduated together ...

... had a graduation party together with Heather ...

... attended a ridiculous number of formals ...

and took the BEST vacations together ...

And when the whole gang got together for the annual ski trip in the Pokonos, you and I always shared the same passion ...

You totally supported me even after I went and got a perm so that I could have blonde curls like Pamela Anderson. (Although, you should have told me that you don't get that kind of curl with a perm. You need rollers! Well, alright. I was the one who went to cosmetology school so I should have KNOWN that.)

We've always made each other laugh ... at, well ... nothing ...

You came to see me when I lived in Canada. And you even brought your cat hat (much to Ted's delight ... and poor Phillipe's chagrin!) ...

When we toured the Louvre, you and Frank took turns pushing me in the wheel chair despite the fact that everyone was staring at us (note the lady below). I had no idea that my discs had broken apart ... all I knew is that it absolutely KILLED to stand for more than 10 seconds. Yet, despite being in probably the worst pain I've ever felt, I still had the best time. We still laughed.

We have LOTS of wedding memories ...

No one ever just invited Kate or Lindsay somewhere. It was always Lindsay AND Kate. And no wonder. Look how fun we are ...

We even perfected a pose ...

We took the BEST road trips!

We watched about a million movies in my living room.

We share the same faith.

And thankfully (for me), you married my friend. Good thing, too, because if I didn't like your husband, we'd have some problems!

Hey ... remember when you thought we weren't going to throw you a bridal shower!!!??

Hey ... remember when my hair was waaaaaay too blonde and you were reeeeeally burnt?! But it was ok because we were having breakfast at Cracker Barrel.

We really are fabulous ...

Thank you so much for being my best friend, Lindsay. You've seen me through the worst times. Laughed with me through the best. I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful friend. Love yah!

Happy Sunday!

Stuff That Made Me Smile

This morning I worked with Taryn and Phoenix down by the Brandywine behind Trolley Square. The girls modeled some very cute clothes. I'll be able to share these pictures probably sometime next month. Thanks again, guys, for coming out to work with me! I appreciate it : ) I'll have some more casting calls in the very, very near future ... so be on the lookout!

So, anyway, here are a few things that really made me smile today : )

1. Julie over at ZoZo Baby Bug wrote the nicest little blog post about
Maliya and our pictures. Thanks, Julie! You made my heart all warm and fuzzy!

2. My Gymboree Bubbles. I love them sooooo much! Thanks, Tim, Christina, and Taryn! We had about a five-minute window of time to try them out with Phoenix before the pre-nap crankies set in. Those bubbles are amazing!

3. How wrong I was. I think the conversation took place with Lindsay ... not sure. But, anyway, a few weeks ago I was reminiscing with someone about old times. We were also trying to catch each other up on all the news. She said, "Hey, aren't Phil and Audrey having another baby? Did she already have it?" I was like, "hmmm ... not sure. I think she's having it soon." So, I had to laugh to myself when Audrey responded to my casting call for a baby who wears 6/12 months. My how time flies by. As you can see, she clearly wasn't just born yesterday! ...

Ok, and those boots make me smile, too!

Happy Friday!!!

Headshots -- Delaware Commercial Photographer

Not too long ago, Robin and I had some fun doing an AMAZING vintage shoot. This time around, though, our goal was a little different: a good solid head shot. Not as fun as vintage suitcases, train stations, and wading in fountains (Robin's favorite part of the last shoot ; ) ), but fun nonetheless. And yes, I absolutely diverted from our goal from time to time. Like, here, for instance. I HAD to take this!!!!

This one, too!

But, we did also manage to get some supa dupa head shots, like this one ...

And my favorite one ...

And another favorite one ...

Once again, Tonya over at Oh La La hooked Robin up with some ultra fab makeup. She rocks!!!

Robin, it was a blast ... just like the last time. Only with less bugs. Thanks for being so fabulous! : )

Happy Thursday!!
