Catch Up -- Delaware Child Photographer

I was overdue. I've been in need of a good, long peaceful walk to clear my head. I have a favorite spot amid the hundreds of acres of White Clay Park where I go when I need peace and quiet. This evening, as I was crossing a rickety old bridge, bopping along to "I Got You Babe" on my iPod (seriously), the music cut off. At first, the dead battery sign made me sigh with frustration. I HATE exercising without music. (And yes, Sonny & Cher IS music.) But at that same moment, I realized that the yellow light of the evening sun was peeking through the tree tops and resting right in the exact place where I stood. I could just feel the yellow. I closed my eyes and propped my leg up on the handrail. The birds were singing, the creek below was glistening in the light, and I breathed deeply. I stayed there on the bridge for about 20 minutes doing my own little pilates/stretching session with no one but the deer to laugh at my inflexibility. Slowly I walked back to the car and thanked God for making such a beautiful earth. It's amazing how easy it is to miss what's right in front of you when you're just not paying attention.

(feet tapping impatiently ...)

Alright, alright. Previews!! I know, I know! People are dying out there! So, let me start out with a full (very full, actually) preview for Christine, since she waited nearly a week for her preview. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your patience!!!

Here's little Miss Grumpy Ballerina ...

But don't worry ... Little Miss Cutie Ballerina also made an appearance ...

I love the dresses that Christine picked out for her little ones. Sooo cute. I literally gasped when I saw them. I think they're from the Gap ... correct me if I'm wrong, though, Christine : )

This little dancer takes her performances very seriously. We were not allowed anywhere near the "stage."

We had such a hot sticky session! I think that was the most humid day of the summer so far. But I love how they turned out : ) Christine, I'll let you know as soon as I have the full gallery up and ready for you guys. And again, thanks for your patience!

And now on to a just a couple of photos for Julie and her family. The full post will be up later this week : ) Oh, this hat!! ...

And now ... before Julie number two flys out here and hijacks my memory cards so she can finally see some images, here are a couple of INSANELY cute pictures to go along with her INSANELY cute outfit. The full ZoZo Baby Bug shoot will be posted tomorrow : )

I told you they were cute!!! Hang tight, Julie ... now that I've got my GIANT hard drive, I'll be churning out the images in no time!

Happy Tuesday!

iHeart Faces -- Wedding Bells

Waiting. I'm still waiting. My hard drive comes in tomorrow. Meanwhile, I'm stuck. I can't upload any new pictures ... and it's killing me! I have some seriously amazing pictures that I'm dying to work on from the last couple of days ... and I can't! Well, the good part about that is that it gives me a chance to enter the iHeart Faces challenge this week. I haven't done that in forever, so here we go : )

The theme this week is weddings. Now, it just so happens that I've worked with some gorgeous brides. I mean, BEAUTIFUL! I have so many lovely, lovely images of happy, smiling brides and at first I thought that I'd use one of those. But, then I decided to go back to my very first wedding and pull out what still remains to be one of my very favorite pictures. Technically speaking, there's nothing too thrilling about this image. But emotionally, I think it's wonderful. If you know Mark, then you know how sad he was having to give his daughter away. Right after the wedding she was moving to England with her husband. It was a tough time for the family. But despite all the pain that shines in his eyes, he still pulled out a smile for his little girl. I'm so, so glad that I hit the shutter right at THAT exact moment.

Be sure and check out all the great entries over at iHeart faces

Happy Monday!

Cuties -- Delaware Kids Photographer

I'm feeling too guilty, Christine!!! I gotta give you something : ) So, here's a ridiculously cute preview to the preview. Yes, it was humid. It was full of drama ; ) But man, we got some cute stuff!

My new hard drive won't be in until Tuesday. Rrrr. So, bear with me as I work with an over-stuffed computer.

Happy weekend!

Out of Space -- Delaware Child Photographer

I'm officially out of space on my computer. I'm waiting for a new hard drive to come in ... hopefully today. Until then, I'm just a wee bit backed up with things. So, if you're waiting for a preview here on the blog, hang in there! It's coming!

I'm also currently nursing a fever and some kind of summer cold. So to those whose sessions I rescheduled, thanks so much for your understanding. And for those whose sessions are scheduled for this weekend, I'll keep you posted. I'm working hard to get better! But, I certainly wouldn't want to pass on germs to anyone.

And here's a picture from Heather's picture party the other week. It just plain old makes me happy : )

Happy Friday!

Oh, This Kid! -- Delaware Child Photographer

Did I get hit by a bus? I sure do feel like it! Actually, I spent four crazy hours yesterday morning with not one, not two, but seven little ones. So, it's the equivalent of getting hit by a bus. We held a model shoot extravaganza for an awesome clothing company. So, so precious. I'm not able to share the images just quite yet ... so, stay tuned! I need to wait for the clothes to make their official debut ... so probably sometime in August. Thanks again to all the Moms and gorgeous little ones that helped with the shoot!! You guys were all so great : )

And now, since I'm insanely worn out, I'll get straight to the point. The case of the disappearing post. Remember these pictures? First you saw then. Then you didn't. Well, they're back : )

Happy Wednesday!

Puppies, Cuties, and Geese -- Delaware Family Photographer

I feel like I accidentally moved to Seattle. This weather is absolutely crazy! Sunday, however, was a gorgeous, fluffy-cloud, sunny day. Heather had a wonderful picture party at Carousel Park, complete with adorable children, insanely cute puppies, and a flock of geese. Big ones! Let me just say that it was seriously hard narrowing down the pictures for this post. I have so many gorgeous shots. But here are a few of my favorites, starting with Mr. Casanova. He made his way around the party ; )

I love this next one. This little puppy is too adorable.

Ok, this next one is hilarious. I don't even know how we got this. The only thing I did in Photoshop was remove his Dad's hands as he was holding the back of the bike. The ears, eyes, and cutie-pie look are 100% authentic : ) ...

The last time I worked with this couple at Rita Mae's picture party, I was all like, "They belong in an Urban Outfitters ad!" But seriously ... don't they?! I love the outfits!

Did you notice that little ball of white fluff she was holding in the photo above? No? Well that's their new baby, Gizmo. If you missed him, don't feel bad. It's not hard to do. He's only two pounds. I wanted to take a photo that really highlighted him, but with his parents. That's hard to do when the dog is so tiny. But, I love this next one. It's so precious.

These little sisters are adorable!! And Mom dressed them in such cute little girlie outfits. Here they are being sweet together ...

And here ...

And here ...

I love these next two! They are so sweet with each other. There were moments when one would knock into the other and I was waiting for a mini outburst ... but there never was one. They just get along so well.

Geez ... the adorable ratings are off the chart on this next one!

His mohawk never changes (can you tell Mom is a hairstylist?!), but this little guy is getting so big. I love the one in the tree.

How cute is this?! ...

And here's our whole gang of kiddies.

Thanks, Heather! You always throw great picture parties. I will probably be cleaning goose poop from my shoes and wagon wheels for quite some time ... but I think it was totally worth it ; )

Happy Thursday!
