I'm NOT booked for 2010!!!

Oh boy. My latest e-letter says I'm booked for 2010. Oops. I'm not! I'm booked for 2009!!! If I've caused any confusion, I'm sorry! The only excuse I can offer is that I just did a 2 hour session out in the rain. Perhaps it's time I found myself an editor!

Thanks!

I Hate to Vacuum -- Delaware Photographer

Hurry! There's only a day left to leave a comment on my new facebook page in order to qualify for a $100 Precious Memories Gift Card!

UGG UPDATE: Yay! Someone got the green pair!!!! There are still three colors I'd love to own! If you can find one of those three pairs ... I'll give you a session/print package worth $600! Details here.

Oh, it's so beautiful out!!!! And I guess we better enjoy it while we can since it looks like the rain is coming back tomorrow : ( Anyway, I'm supposed to be vacuuming my house right now, but since I really hate to vacuum, I thought I'd first pop on the blog and put up a couple of pictures from sessions this weekend. Friday and Saturday were wiiiiiiindy. But I'm a major fan of blowing hair/kissing pictures ... so I was happy : )

I LOVE this one ...

And here's a sneak peek of the real preview to come (later this week) of Mark and Jessica's engagement session ...

And here's the happiest little baby you ever did see : ) Her full preview will be on the blog later this week, too.

And now ... I must vacuum.

Happy Sunday!

Find Me Some Uggs ... Get a $600 Session/Prints Package

UPDATE: The Green Pair have already been found and purchased by an awesome client!!!!

I love contests. I love savings. And I LOVE my UGG Rockstars! Soooooo ... put it all together and you've got an offer that I'm throwing out there to all my bargain shopping clients. Buy me a pair of size 9 Ugg Rockstars ... and you've got yourself a regular session and a big fat package of prints. The total value = $600. The cost of the Uggs = whatever price you can score!

Sounds easy, doesn't it?

Well ... it might be harder than you think. Ugg Rockstars were a special edition waaaay back in 2005. That's when I bought my pair. I'm pretty sure you've seen them. I wear them every October through April. I love them so much that I've even replaced the zipper. And that cost a small fortune. Alas, they've just about had it. And I want a new pair! I begged Mr. Ugg to bring them back (well, actually, it wasn't Mr. Ugg ... just the person on the other end of the online chat customer service center), but I was shot down. Now, I know they're out there. Ebay ... discount stores ... and closeout sites still have them from time to time. I just seem to keep missing the right time. Sooo, that's where you all come in. I don't care what color ... all that matters to me is that they're a size 9 ... and are new. If by any chance you have a choice of color (which, wow! how did you find that?!) ... I like beige the best ; )

So, if you were thinking about booking a session, want to save some money, and are a savvy shopper ... then, please, please, please ... make my day and find me some Rockstars!!!!!! You'll know them by the totally awesome design on the side. They look like this ...

Once you score a pair, shoot me an e-mail and let me know right away and we'll schedule your session (which must take place sometime in the next six months). Or, I'll send you a gift card (valid for 6 months) that you can give to someone else. A $600 gift card would make a mighty nice gift! Travel fees will apply for all sessions outside of a 30 mile radius of Newark, DE.

And if you're wondering ... how many people can get in on this offer? The answer is ... up to four. This boot was made in four different colors. I don't want any duplicate colors, but I'd be a happy girl if I got all four : ) I'll announce on the blog when a certain color has been found.

Please contact me if you have any questions!

Oh ... and don't forget about the $100 gift certificate giveaway. To enter, simply leave me a comment on my brand spankin' new Facebook page. I'll announce the winner on Monday, December 1.

Contest -- Delaware Child Photographer

I fought it for a looooooong time. Long time. But today, I broke down and created a, gulp, Facebook page. And currently, I have one fan. Me.

So ... since I promised you all a contest here on the blog, I thought it might be fun to do something with my new facebook account. So, if you'd like a chance to win a $100 Precious Memories by Kate gift card (for yourself, or to give as a gift), all you have to do is check out my new account and leave me a comment. I'll pick a random winner on Tuesday, December 1.

And in honor of Bella's safe return home, here's one of my favorites of her from a clothing shoot. She takes her job very seriously.

Happy Thursday!

Bella's Back -- Delaware Photographer

She's back home ... safe and sound. I was worried all day. I think it was the "in case of sudden heart failure" paper you have to sign when you drop them off for surgery that freaked me out. But she's back home. And finally, after about two hours of whimpering, she's all settled in. Phew.

Happy Wednesday!

I Bribe Children -- Delaware Child Photographer

The way to a child's heart? Sugar.

Miss Emma was awwwwwfully glad I brought some donuts for her big sis' commercial PJ shoot.

I can't really show you the PJs yet, but here's Kayla enjoying donut number one ; )

And speaking of cute little sisters ... here's little Miss Ava who was such a doll the other day while I was working with her big sister on the same PJ shoot. She didn't complain once that she wasn't the center of attention. So, while her Mom and sister were changing, I shot a few pictures of her. She seemed relieved to finally have the camera on her ...

And today, despite the dreary weather, I had such a fabulous Beautiful You session. FABULOUS. My new friend (who shall remain nameless since this session and the calendar that will feature her lovely images are a gift for her hubby) was so much fun. It rained most of the session ... but she rocked it out anyway. She climbed through tiny holes and trekked through mud - and never complained once. Trya would have been proud ; )

Tomorrow I'll be sitting on pins and needles since my little Bella is having a little procedure. Thankfully, she and one of the vet techs are bffs, so I'm assured she will have non-stop attention (and kisses). I promised her that when she comes home we'll watch a new BBC movie my Mom just lent me. It's six hours long. Bella is veeery happy about that.

Happy Tuesday!

The Dog Drank My Coffee -- Delaware Child Photographer

Yes, the dog did drink my coffee (good thing it was decaf!), but that's ok ... it was still an awesome picture party! Monica told me in advance that her aunt's house is pretty fabulous ... but when I pulled into the long driveway, I couldn't help but gasp. A pond! Tall grasses and wheat! Trees that still have leaves! A giant trampoline! And ... old beat up cars!! We shot until the sun was completely gone ... it was that good. A special thanks to all the guests for attending. I had a blast. I hope you enjoy your little sneak peek below ; )

See, told you there was a trampoline ...

I LOVE this one ...

Ok, now, these girls were a hoot! In a few years, you're going to see them on an episode of American Idol or something like it.

Told you the cars ROCKED!

Monica asked me if it was ok that she brought along her own props. The answer, of course, was ... OF COURSE! I love when people personalize their sessions. And she did a fabulous job.

See how the sun is nearly down in the picture above? This next family juuuuuust made it. Their poor Mom arrived on time, only to find out that they'd forgotten to bring her daughter's shoes. She had been asleep when they left the house, so they didn't realize she was shoeless until they arrived at the picture party. So, they ran out to Kohl's and got back just in time (with some new red sparkle shoes!) to get the last bit of light.

I HEART, HEART, HEART this next one. And I really can't take any credit for it. She decided to lie down all on her own. She must have been tired out from all that shopping!

And last but not least ... we ended things with the cousins on the trampoline. I'm pretty amazed that this turned out as well as it did. This was after sunset ... so it was preeeetty dark out. Because they were sitting still, I could slow down my shutter speed a bit ... but since I was standing above them balancing on a trampoline, I figured my movement would wreck things. I was super happy to find out when I uploaded them that they did, in fact, come out ok ...

Thanks again, Monica : ) I'll let you know when your full gallery of images is ready.

Now, in case you're wondering if I'm still doing picture parties (since the info on my main Web site says I'm not), the answer is no ... and yes. No ... I'm not scheduling anymore at this moment. But, yes, I will be scheduling them again in the near future. I'm in the middle of making some picture party changes ... and then I'll post the 2010 information here on the blog. So, stay tuned!

Happy Monday!

Dear Blog,

I'm sorry I've been neglecting you. I'm so far behind on so many things that I'm currently stuck beneath a giant pile of ... well ... everything. But, I promise to make it up to you next week. Plus, don't forget ... my two-year anniversary is coming up! December 1 marks two years for Precious Memories by Kate. That means I'll have to do a veeeery special contest right here on the blog for all my lovely readers : )

We Have a Winner -- Delaware Child Photographer

If you're a Precious Memories e-mail subscriber, then you saw the "buy an outfit, get a free session" offer that I sent out this afternoon. Basically, the first person to contact me who agreed to buy this outfit ...

... won a FREE regular session for his or her daughter (in the outfit, of course) at Brandywine Creek State Park. I hit send on the e-letter and then ran out to do an errand. When I got back, my inbox was full. Soooo ... without further delay ... the winner is ...

JOYCE KELLY!!!

Joyce, your daughter will receive a free photo shoot! I'll be in touch so we can set up a time that will work : )

Thank you to all the people who sent me an e-mail. I wish I could do this with everyone! But, I'll definitely be doing it again sometime soon. And I'll be doing another one in a few weeks with an outfit for a little guy. I'll be searching high and low to find something super, super cool! (Since we all know it's hard to find really cool boys clothes.)

If you haven't already signed up for my e-letters, you can do so here. It's the best way to hear about cool contests, casting calls, and giveaways before I post them on the blog.

Also, as I mentioned in the e-letter, there are two little doggies that need a good home ...

If you know anyone who would like more information about these guys, let me know : )

And lastly, I leave you with these two insanely cute pictures from a recent mini session. I had the best time with this family : )

Happy Tuesday!

Old New Castle Extravaganza -- Delaware Family Photographer

I hope you're curled up somewhere with a blanket and a warm beverage to sip : ) It's so chilly and wet out there. But last week, we actually had some dry days ... and the sun even (gasp!) came out. On one such day, I met up with Janet and her girls for a huuuuuge extravaganza of pictures. We braved the chill along the Delaware River in Old New Castle and I have soooo many pictures to share that I better just shut my mouth and begin ...

Let's start with these adorable sisters. They soooo know how to pose! ...

Don't you just want to reach into your computer and grab those cheeks?! ...

Ok, so this next one is one of my favorites from the day. I heart it BIG time ; ) ...

Oh, the light ... sigh ...

Here's Nanna and her girls (and one boy). The other boy had HAD it at this point in the day : ) ...

I LOVE this next one! Here's the lovely Janet modeling one of her many scarves : ) ...

It took Maliya a little time to warm up and start playing with her cousins. But once we found the leaf pile, the ice was broken. Although they absolutely covered her in leaves, they were also very willing to help clean her up : ) ...

These two are just so adorable! ...

I love how Janet is looking at her girls : ) ...

Brrr ... I'm feeling cold just looking at these again! It was veeeery chilly on the water that evening. But we braved it so that we could get some sunset shots.

I hope you girls like your biiiig preview : ) I had so much fun working with you all!

Happy Friday!
Kate
