Battery Park Picture Party -- Delaware Photographer

Sunday. Oh, Sunday. It was such a gorgeous, gorgeous day. The sun was shining, the air was warm, and the hot dog man was out in Battery Park. And so were we. Missy couldn't have picked a more gorgeous day. Or a better location. We were able to use the old streets and walls in Old New Castle (complete with a tour from a slightly inebriated gentleman) as well as the park-like atmosphere along the water. Picture parties are a great way to spend time with some friends and family, and get some pictures taken, too. I loved that at Missy's party, there was a real mix in the kinds of mini sessions I was holding, from maternity to babies, toddlers to a couple's anytime session. Since waiting is the worst, here are a few preview shots to hold the gang over until the full gallery is ready.

Here she is, our lovely hostess with the mostest.

I was tired Sunday night. And you know what? I think it was all because of this next little cutie pie. Whew. There is no need for a gym membership when she's around. She's a mover and a shaker. Thank goodness for a quick shutter speed!!

She was willing to sit still for about 6 seconds. And boy was it cute : ) ...

This little man has the chunkiest little cheeks ever. I just wanted to squeeze them every time I looked at him.

When photographing children, you have to be ready for anything. The cutest pictures happen when you're not expecting it. This next one is a great example of unexpected cuteness. I asked him to sit down on the stones near the pretty orange flowers, which he did. But then he decided that it would be more fun to roll around on the patio. Again, thank goodness for a quick shutter speed, since we captured this cute "pose."

His Mommy brought a pretty bouquet of balloons (and boy do I have some cute shots with them!), and he enjoyed loosing them just as much as he did holding on to them. There's something about little boys and balloons that always lends itself to a vintage finish, so that's what I did here ... complete with a brand new sky and a balloon from another picture party.

Don't you just love this wall? Our intoxicated "tour guide" explained that it was the old Ivory building. I fully intend to google that because I'm not sure what "the old Ivory building" is. But it sure does work great for pictures. (And in case your wondering, he wasn't an official tour guide. Just someone who decided to tag along with us for a little while.)

Missy is just too cute! Love it : )

Aww ... I love how their pictures turned out. I think you guys make such a lovely couple, Dana : ) And congratulations again on the baby!

I had such a great time with all of you guys on Sunday! I'll let you know as soon as your complete gallery of pictures is ready.

Happy (very chilly) Tuesday!
